The building in the foreground carries just above its entry, visible at the front, the words Poduzece Marmora
(Produzege
Mermer?), which means the same as marble works. Perhaps there were made tiles, so-called Terrazo-Tiles out of the material, which were hewed in the nearby quarry. Mainly the area consists of 3 buildings in a row. The forward part of the building visible aft/right contains large ovens, obviously for drying reasons. |
