OTOK Epilogue |
|
My first trip to Goli was in 1994 and since then a lot of things were
destroyed. Unfortunately my idea and the possibility to capture my
impressions in this way came too late. So tourists and natives of the local area
had time enough to plunder and ruin everything. Floors, furniture and
mattresses were frazzled in hope to find some hidden secrets. Lots of
visitors sprayed their graffitis to walls. Farmers are using the island as
pasture for their sheep which take over another large part of
destruction. The destruction takes its way, like on the neighbor island
Grgur which had been a prison for females. Grgur was left at the end of the
70's so you
can't find interesting things anymore, except a few ruins, in a different
manner to the earlier years. (C) Achim K. 2009 |
